Doctors lauded for taking stand on Holcim issue

On Friday, April 25, the Chronicle published a full-page ad sponsored by a large number of Gallatin County physicians, stressing the negative health impacts of burning tires at the Trident cement plant, and urging everyone to support a full environmental impact statement to assess the health risks of that proposal. We were very pleased to recognize our own family doctors in the list of sponsors of that advertisement.

Our county doctors deserve our gratitude for their participation in alerting us once again to the hazards of burning automobile tires, such a short distance upwind from our homes. Our beautiful county deserves much better treatment and a denial of the tire-burning permit to the Trident plant.
