Effort to create a new library worthy of all our support
The Bozeman Library is a true asset for our community. In 2003 it was one of only three libraries across the nation that received national recognition for community service. First Lady Laura Bush presented the award.
As Bozeman has grown in size, library supporters have embarked on a private-public partnership to build a new library that will double the space of the current library, offer a much larger public meeting room, and create a children's library.
Private donations, city support, county contributions and federal funds all will go into making the new library a center of our vibrant downtown. To date, the land has been acquired, cleaned and readied for construction; a bond passed; and millions raised. With continued support, the new library will open at the end of 2006.
