Another library campaign years ago recalled
The new Bozeman Library will be a great success for our community. Much has been accomplished so far -- including the purchase and preparation of land adjacent to Lindley Park and a beautiful design that will double the library's size and bring the project in on budget.
I'm proud to live in a community that supports the new library through the passage of a bond and more than $3 million in private contributions.
I have been fortunate to live in Bozeman for some time and remember the book brigade 23 years ago.
Hundreds of people came together to pass books hand-to-hand from the old Carnegie Library zig-zagging across Mendenhall and into the current building.
Today we have an opportunity to create a new library that will be a legacy for our children. That's why I'm a strong supporter of a new library, serve on the board of the library foundation and have donated to the campaign.
Working together, Bozeman can create a library for the future that makes all of us proud.
