Timing of ground-breaking for new library fortuitous
Our library has much to celebrate this year during National Library Week, April 10-16. This year's theme is "Something for Everyone@ Your Library." Thanks to the work and support of the library staff, board of trustees, the foundation board, Friends of the Library, the city and county commissions, our architect and contractors and our generous community, a groundbreaking ceremony was conducted Thursday on the new library site at 626 E. Main St.
Fittingly chosen to occur during National Library Week, this is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support, and this new Library is intended to provide library services well into the 21st century.
We invite everyone to celebrate the start of our 53,000-square-foot building, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2006. Many years of planning have gone into this project, and it is a source of pride and joy that it is finally underway.
Check the library Web site (www.bozemanlibrary.org) for more information regarding special programs at the library this week, which range from ones on poetry to puppetry. We are appreciative of your support this week and every week of the year.
