Kirov master teacher to present master classes in Helena, Bozeman
Angelina Armeiskaya, master teacher from the Kirov Academy of Ballet, returns to Bozeman to teach a Ballet Master Class Weekend. Youth Arts in Action has invited Armeiskaya to provide an exciting opportunity for dancers from all over Montana. Dancers will not only participate in master classes but can also be personally evaluated by Armeiskaya for scholarships to the Kirov Academy of Ballet Summer Intensive and year-round programs in Washington, D.C.
Armeiskaya graduated from the prestigious Vaganova Academy of Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia. She starred as principal dancer with the Russian State Ballet and has developed into a widely respected teacher and coach since retiring from the stage. Armeiskaya had the lead role in the Academy Award-winning ballet documentary “The Children of Theatre Street,” narrated by Princess Grace of Monaco.
An afternoon tea on Sunday, March 30, will provide an opportunity for dancers, parents and anyone else interested to meet and talk with Armeiskaya and get autographed copies of her photos and movies.
Master classes are open to ballet students 10 and over, of all levels of ability. An evening class on Friday, March 28, will be held at Carroll College in Helena. Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, classes will be held in Bozeman at Harmony Hall in the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture. Class size is limited and preregistration is required for both the master classes and the afternoon tea. Call Youth Arts in Action at 406-522-0404 for details and registration or visit www.youthartsinaction.org.
