Bucks beat Skyhawks, 7-2

RAPID CITY, S.D. n The Bucks jumped on top of Omaha with three runs in the first inning and never looked back as they downed the Skyhawks 7-2 to finish perfect at the James “Pev” Evans Tournament.


Brendan Phillips went six strong innings, allowing one earned run on seven hits while striking out four. On the offensive side Kyle Britt and Ryan Minkoff each hit terrorized the Skyhawks from the top two spots in the order, as each went 2-3 with an RBI and a triple.

Outlaws sweep Butte: At Butte, The Outlaws came up with 14-4 and 16-6 victories on the road against Butte. Connor Moore went the distance for the Outlaws in game one, giving up just four runs on six hits and Derek Allen helped carry the load offensively, going 4-6 over the two games with two doubles.

Belgrade drops two to Scarlets: The Bandits struggled to hit the ball in a home double header against the first-place Scarlets, losing the first game 10-0 and the second 10-3. They came up with just seven hits over the two games and spoiled a particularly good effort by their game one starting pitcher Ryan Rothing, who gave up just 5 runs to the mighty Scarlet offense in through the first four innings.
