Free resource management presentation tonight


Dean Adams will give a presentation about environmentally sound resource management practices at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Bridger Canyon Fire Station’s community room.

Adams will talk about his family’s history of conservation agriculture and ranching on the Mast Ranch in Bridger Canyon for four generations.

The program is free and open to the public; it is hosted by the Bridger to Bangtail Coalition.

Cat-Griz pep rally slated for tonight downtown

A free public pep rally to support the Montana State University Bobcats before the ‘Cat-Griz football game will be held in downtown Bozeman on Thursday evening.

The rally to show Bobcat spirit begins at 6:30 p.m. on East Main Street, between Rouse and Bozeman avenues.

MSU football coaches, players, spirit squad, drum line and alumni will talk about this year’s ‘Cat-Griz game and help get the community excited. There will be free hamburgers and hot drinks, free Bobcat gear and photo opportunities with MSU mascot Champ.

The Downtown Bozeman Partnership, Rocking R Bar, First Security Bank, MSU-Chamber of Commerce Relations Committee and MSU Athletics are sponsors.

MSU Alumni to host Missoula events for Cat-Griz

Montana State University’s Alumni Association will hold two events in Missoula Friday and Saturday during the ‘Cat-Griz football game “Brawl of the Wild.”

On Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., a Bobcat Fire-Up event will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, 100 Madison St. Tickets are $5 at the door and hors d’oeuvres will be served with a no-host bar.

On Saturday starting at 9 a.m., a Bobcat tailgate party will be held in the River Bowl South area (the University of Montana practice field near Maurice Street), next to Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Participants are encouraged to wear blue and gold to the tailgate, sponsored by Spectators Bar & Grill of Bozeman.

The game begins at 12:05 p.m. Saturday. It will be televised by CBS affiliates, including KBZK in Bozeman.

Closeup dinner and auction at Harrison School

Harrison School will host its annual Closeup dinner and auction on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Dinner is from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the auction. Auction items include gift baskets, carved bears, handmade quilts, pickup bed tool boxes, Fairmont Hot Springs getaway, art works, half a beef, cut and wrapped from the Sitz Angus ranch, and a buffalo from the Flying D ranch.
