Bozeman man arrested in Ohio on drug charges
A Bozeman man and two men from Maine were arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol when officers found 3 pounds of marijuana in one of their vehicles during a traffic stop near Toledo, Ohio.
Charles L. Clark, 24, of Bozeman, was driving a Toyota Sequoia westbound on the Ohio Turnpike around 10 a.m. last Friday when he was stopped for a registration violation, according to a written release from the highway patrol.
Aaron Gile, 19, of Gorham, Maine, had been tailgating the Toyota in a Volvo with Clark’s brother, Will Clark, 20, of Windham, Maine, and was also pulled over by a highway patrolman.
Gile and the brothers told officers they were traveling together. A patrol dog then indicated the presence of drugs in the Toyota and officers discovered three pounds of BC Bud marijuana - a very potent and aromatic form of the drug - worth about $135,000 on the street, according to the release and Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Dave Schultz.
All three men denied the marijuana was theirs or that they even knew it was in the car, Schultz said Wednesday. They were heading to Bozeman.
All three were arrested. Charles Clark was charged with possession of drugs and drug trafficking, both felonies. Gile and Will P. Clark were charged with complicity, also a felony.
If convicted, Charles Clark faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Gile and Will Clark could be sentenced to up to five years incarceration and a $10,000 fine.
The three are being held at the Lucas County Jail on $50,000 bond each.
